Al Franken: Is he truly a ‘champion of women’s rights’?

As the women line up (I think it’s 6 as of today) accusing Minnesota Senator and comedian, Al Franken of playing “grab ass”, shoving his tongue in their mouths or general “feeling up”, I wonder if left-wing mouthpiece, Howard Fineman still thinks Franken is a “champion of women’s rights”? (see Tweet dated Nov 18)

These occurrences have happened in different venues, according to his accusers; however, Franken appears to have used the USO as a good time party for his sexual groping shenanigans.

Looking at one of the most recent women, an Army veteran named Stephanie Kemplin who claims Franken cupped her breast during a photo in 2003 during a USO tour when he was not in office, it makes you wonder about this 2014 statement the Senator made concerning sexual assault in the U.S. Military:

“The number of sexual assaults experienced by members of our military is totally unacceptable, and it’s outrageous how hard it has been for these survivors to seek and get justice,” said Sen. Franken. “I’m pleased we were able to come together to take steps that will help curb military sexual assaults.

“But at the same time, I’m disappointed that we weren’t able to move forward on a bill that would have gone further. As this effort continues, I’ll keep working on all fronts to rein in these heinous crimes and bring justice to those affected.”

Hmmm. Hypocrisy with a twist of irony

I know, you may be asking yourself, “Is that really sexual assault?”

Fair question. So I turned to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network),the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization for a definition. This is what they say on their website:

What is sexual assault?

The term sexual assault refers to sexual contact or behavior that occurs without explicit consent of the victim. Some forms of sexual assault include:

  • Attempted rape
  • Fondling or unwanted sexual touching
  • Forcing a victim to perform sexual acts, such as oral sex or penetrating the perpetrator’s body
  • Penetration of the victim’s body, also known as rape

I think that qualifies.

So what women’s right’s is Franken a “champion” of besides fighting tooth and nail to allow the slaughter of the unborn?

Mr Fineman says in a tweet, “He & I’ve been family friends for decades”.

And, your point is?
