Illinois murder suicide: Toni Ladd identified as woman killed by Gregory Kinser
Authorities say they believe the shootings deaths of two people in the southern Illinois community of Herrin was a murder-suicide.
Police say that Gregory Kinser, 55, of Herrin shot Toni Ladd, 50, of Herrin before turning the gun on himself shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday.
Williamson County Coroner Junior Burke pronounced Kinser dead at the scene. Ladd was rushed to an area hospital where she later died.
When police arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds.
The investigation is being conducted by the Herrin Police Department, the Illinois State Police and the coroner’s office. Officials were called to the home on North 31st Street around 9:15 PM.
An autopsy on Kinser will be conducted tomorrow.
