Police identify dead woman found in Walmart bathroom as Katherine Caraway
Police confirm that the body of a woman found Monday inside a family bathroom at the Walmart in Sand Springs, Oklahoma was Katherine Caraway
Caraway, 29, from Muskogee, was discovered inside of a family bathroom marked as out of order by employees. The sign on the door remained there all weekend.
Police said preliminary investigation showed no signs of foul play, leading them to believe she died of natural causes.
Caraway was found dead in the Sand Springs store, just outside Tulsa, about 3 p.m. on Monday.
CCTV footage showed Caraway entering the store on Friday but did not capture her returning to the store on Monday.
‘We’re searching through the video and talking to as many people as we can to find out her story, where she’s from,’ Sand Springs Police Capt. Todd Enzbrenner told Tulsa World.
In a statement, Walmart said : “We are saddened by this. We don’t know all the facts right now, but we are working closely with local law enforcement to provide what information we have that might be useful. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we must refer you to them for additional information.”
